Childhood Trauma

The most heart breaking of all traumas, childhood abuse, neglect and sexual violation has impacts that reach into every facet of life and our society. You may remember clearly your experience of childhood trauma, or there could be a nagging feeling that something went terribly wrong. • Problems with friendships or romantic relationships.

  • Problems creating and holding boundaries.

  • Insomnia or other sleep issues.

  • Flashbacks.

  • Feeling numb.

  • Trouble managing emotions.

  • Feelings of guilt or worthlessness.

  • Anxiety, panic attacks, and hypervigilance.

  • Feeling "wrong" or "dirty."

  • Depression.

  • Suicidal thoughts and attempts.

  • Cutting, self harm, or self mutilation.

  • Being impulsive or destructive.

  • Eating disorders.

  • Poor self esteem or body image.
